Sun Iat-Sen Memorial House

Dwelves into the life of failed Chinese revolutionary leader Sun Iat-Sen who practiced medicine in Macau in 1892.   Dead before any of his aims could be realised, Dr Sun would shudder to see what modern China has become.

I paid a visit there during Trip Report III.

Wine Museum

I didn’t like the Wine Museum very much when I visited it for Trip Report I.  I think a lot better job could have been done.

The only interesting thing about this museum is the way it looks.  Snap some pictures outside, just don’t bother stepping in.

Jao Tsung-I Academy

In addition to being a centenarian, dying at the age of 100 in 2018, Jao Tsung-I was many things: celebrated calligraphist, thinker, writer, artist, historian and Master of Sinology.  He is even immortalized in the cosmos, when planet numbered 10017 was formally named Jaotsungi in 2011.  Located next to Tap Seac Square, the Jao Tsung-I Academy displays 15 sets of his work, the majority of which could be replicated by anyone who can manipulate a brush.  If this is art, then we’re all artists.

Admission: Free     Location: Avenida do Conselhiero Ferreira de Almeida, No 95 C-D   Hours: Open daily from 10 am to 6 pm   Closed on Mondays

Tung Sin Tong Historical Archive Exhibition Hall

Founded in 1892, Tung Sin Tong is a charitable organization that still continues providing assistance to the needy today.  If you ask me, they should look inward and allocate more resources to their Archive Exhibition Hall, because outside of some really good aircon and free public Wifi, there’s basically no point in visiting.  Located adjacent to the Pawn Shop Museum, it is a very nice building though.

Admission: Free     Location: Rua de Camilo Pessanha, No 55   Hours: Open daily from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm   Closed on Tuesdays
