House of Magic (end)+ Back

(Last updated: July 4th, 2016, the day the Thunder died.)

Quite possibly the best magic show in Asia, the Mavenettes and I were wowed by most of the tricks we saw and couldn’t come close to figuring any of them out.  I was also pleasantly surprised that all of the performers used English, something I don’t get to experience too often living in Asia.

The show takes about 90 minutes and rotates through three different theatres, while seating is general admission for everyone.  Don’t feel a need to rush to the front though, since there isn’t a bad seat in the house.

The magicians rotate as well and we saw four of them, each of whom specialised in a different discipline of magic, whether it was card tricks or illusion, disappearing acts or sleight of hand.  I'm not going to go into any more detail about the specific tricks themselves, only because I think that magic should be mysterious and spontaneous.  The only way to know is to go there and see for yourself!

As for how the show compares to more famous ones in Vegas I can’t say, but I don’t think anyone who’s a fan of magic will be disappointed.  No one wanted to leave the theater after it finished, and had it been a rock concert, we all would have been shouting for an encore.

Showtimes are 5:00 pm, 7:00 pm and 9:00 pm Monday through Friday, while there’s an extra 3:00 pm show on weekends.  Tickets are $450 for adults and $360 for children.

The only place you’re allowed to take pictures is in the waiting room before the show starts.  Thus all I can share with you are the two panoramic shots presented below.
