Macau Covid 19 Travel Updates

Keep tabs on this page for the latest news regarding travel to Macau, and under what circumstances it will resume, during the 2020-2022 Covid-19 pandemic.

We’ve recently had an update after two years of no movement.

Starting May 27, 2022, Portuguese nationals will be allowed to enter Macau, so long as they have only been to mainland China, Hong Kong, or Portugal within the previous 21 days.  A 14 day quarantine will be enforced upon arrival.

Furthermore, this edict from April 2020 still remains in effect.

All those who are not residents of Macau, China, Hong Kong or Taiwan are BANNED from entering Macau.

Just uninformed speculation from the Maven, but I’d be shocked if Macau re-opens to foreign visitors before 2023, even with proof of Covid vaccination.

In other words, it’s still going to be a hard long suck.
