Macau Museums: Three Stars
For such a small city, Macau has a ton of museums, around 25 in all. Here’s how I’d rank them, using a star system similar to that of Michelin restaurants. Â
3 stars: A must see. Worth making a diversion for.
2 stars: If you’re in the neighbourhood, by all means drop in and have a look.Â
1 star: Will probably only appeal to people who are interested in the museum’s theme.Â
0 stars: Not worth going to under any circumstances.
3 stars

Macau Museum Guide: Handover Gifts Museum
When Macau returned to China in 1999, China’s 33 various provinces, zones and special regions each contributed a gift to celebrate the homecoming. It resulted in one very impressive collection of highly technical and superbly crafted Chinese art, presented in a wide array of styles and disciplines. Â
A little late to the party, Mu Yi and I visited it in Trip Report II.

The Museum of Art takes up a total of 5 floors with 7 different exhibition galleries in use. Three or four galleries house permanent exhibitions, while the others are reserved for temporary showings.Â
