Here are other attractions that visitors to Macau may find interesting.

Golf

Macau has two golf courses that accept visiting players. 

Macau International Golf: Formerly known as Caesars Golf Macau, Macau International Golf is a relatively flat, links-style course at the southern end of Cotai. Water comes into play on numerous holes, while the course also has a driving range, equipment rental and clubhouse facilities.

Prices and tee-time availability appear to change regularly, so call the club directly rather than relying on rates posted online.

Macau Golf and Country Club: Located beside Grand Coloane Resort, Macau Golf and Country Club is generally considered the better and more scenic of Macau’s two courses. It has hosted the Macau Open and offers superb views over the South China Sea.

Visitors are allowed to play, but they must possess a valid handicap of 36 or under for men and 40 or under for women and juniors. Anyone playing without a member is also required to hire a golf cart and caddie.

Go-Karting

Located just south of the Cotai Strip on Estrada Do Istmo opposite the Reservoir, Coloane’s Go Kart track is one of the best in Asia. The 1.2-kilometre circuit holds an A-grade track licence and is also used for international competitions.

Drivers must be at least 1.5 metres tall and possess a valid driving licence. Each 15-minute session costs $180, with a maximum of 15 drivers allowed on the circuit at once. Arrive around 30 minutes early for the compulsory safety and operating briefing.

Current opening hours are 10:30 am to 6:00 pm Monday to Wednesday, 10:30 am to 4:30 pm Thursday and Friday, 1:30 pm to 6:00 pm Saturday and 10:30 am to 6:00 pm Sunday.

The track occasionally closes for races, training and private events, so it is worth calling (853) 2888 2126 before making the journey.

Macau Tower

One of Macau’s best-known landmarks, Macau Tower stands 338 metres high and offers panoramic views across the peninsula, Taipa, Coloane and mainland China. The observation areas are worth visiting on a clear day, even if you have no intention of throwing yourself off the building.

Thrill seekers can take on several activities operated by AJ Hackett from 233 metres above the ground. The Bungy Jump costs $3,088, the SkyJump costs $2,188 and the Skywalk costs $788. There is also a Tower Climb for $2,688. Prices are subject to change, but admission to Macau Tower is included with the Bungy Jump.

The bungy remains the world’s highest commercial bungy jump from a building. Less terrifying alternatives include walking around the outside of the tower while attached to a safety harness or simply watching somebody else make a terrible decision.
